Celebrating the American Vernacular of Dance

Tapology dance and jazzThe Tapology Concert is an annual tradition of the Tapology Dance Festival for Youth, which offers tap workshops taught by world renowned concert artists and is hosted by FIM and Flint's Cultural Center.

The Concert is Tapology's largest fundraising effort. A portion of every ticket sold goes to support arts and dance instruction for youth throughout the State of Michigan year round; nurturing creative talents in young people and providing opportunities for them to develop, build resume's and find excellence within themselves.

Tap, African, Step, Swing and Hip Hop artists grace the stage for the 10th annual percussive dance performance. Tapology celebrates a decade of increasingly exciting concert events. 2012 features renowned Jazz pianist Orrin Evans of Philadelphia, Legends of Tap; Mable Lee, Dianne Walker, Deborah Mitchell and Chester Whitmore; along with some of the hottest names in contemporary Tap: Cartier Williams, Maurice Chestnut, and our own Tapology Youth Ensemble performing original works created specifically for the style and passion these youngsters harness to set the stage on fire!
